MT-10&MT-10R; Advanced main and reserve parachutes, 35-foot diameter, steerable
The MT-10 is a steerable, 35-foot diameter parabolic shaped canopy, with anti-inversion netting. Its 30 gores are block constructed using nonporous, rip stop nylon. Very little air passes through the material PIA-C-44378 Type I (0.5-5.0 CFM) resulting in slower than normal rate of descent.
The MT-10R parachute is reserve type designed to be activated manually, by means of a ripcord, by the parachutist in the event the primary parachute malfunctions. The 26-foot conical type troop chest reserve has a spring loaded pilot chute with bridle line.
The MC1 series, MC1-1B/C/D/E, troop back personnel parachute provides capability to safely deliver an airborne soldier, and individual equipment, from an aircraft in flight, for a vertical assault on the enemy. The MC1 series maneuverable parachute assembly is used primarily for a premeditated jump when a precision landing in a small target area is necessary.
The T-10 series, T-10B/C/D, troop back personnel parachute provides capability to safely deliver an airborne soldier and individual equipment, from an aircraft in flight, for a vertical assault on an enemy. The T-10 extended skirt parachute was standardized by the US Government as a troop personnel parachute and has been used successfully since that time with relatively few modifications.
The T-10R chest reserve assembly is an emergency parachute designed to be used in the event of a malfunction of the primary back type parachute. The parachute assemblies consist of a flat circular 24 feet diameter canopy, and a pack assembly with ripcord. The 24 feet troop chest type reserve has a spring-actuated umbrella type pilot parachute with bridle line.
